He completed his B.Sc. degree, but his real learning happened outside classroom more than inside. At present, he is part of Bharatiya Janata Party, although earlier he was one of the important leaders in All India Trinamool Congress. That shift later became a big talking point.

He started his main political career with All India Trinamool Congress, working under Mamata Banerjee. During this time, he was not just a background worker, he was actively present in movements and public gatherings also.
