Rekha Gupta early life

Rekha Gupta was born in Nandgarh village, Jind, Haryana. When she was just two years old, her family moved to Delhi after her father got a managerial position at the State Bank of India. She completed all her education in Delhi, during which time she became involved in politics through the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad).

Rekha Gupta belongs to the Vaishya community, which has a significant presence in Delhi. The Vaishya community is considered a core voter base for the BJP.

Rekha Gupta Political Career

Rekha Gupta won the assembly election from Shalimar Bagh in 2025 as a BJP candidate. She is the General Secretary of Delhi BJP and the National Vice President of the Women's Wing. She has previously served as the Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation. Before becoming a legislator, she held positions as a Councilor, the former General Secretary, and President of the Delhi University Students' Union.

Her father worked at the State Bank of India, which led their family to move to Delhi. Her paternal grandfather, Maniram Jindal, lived in their village, and the family has been deeply involved in various traditional business responsibilities. Rekha Gupta continues to visit her village regularly, staying connected with her roots and family.
